[VIALARDI (Francesco Maria)]. La Fameuse compagnie de la Les - Lot 14

[VIALARDI (Francesco Maria)]. La Fameuse compagnie de la Lesine, ou alesne. C'est à dire, La Maniere d'espargner, acquerir & conserver. Rolet Boutonné, Paris 1618. In-12° 18th-century calf, triple filleted boards, smooth spine decorated, red edges. Ex-libris Henri Lambert (lawyer in Versailles). Lacks the vignette on the title, which was probably repaired at the time of binding in the 18th century. Binding damaged, as is. Second edition of the French translation of this collection of Italian plays, which appeared successively and may have been written by several authors. This treatise against avarice also contains some passages on gastronomy, with chapters on wine, saffron, banquets and meats. All these dissertations have a single purpose: to spare (skimp).
